Publication Ethics
Journal of Economics and Business (JECOMBI) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal promotes responsible research practices, transparent editorial procedures, rigorous peer review, and ethical conduct throughout the publication process.
All authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher are expected to comply with the ethical principles and responsibilities described below. JECOMBI does not tolerate plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, undisclosed conflicts of interest, or other forms of academic misconduct.
1. Responsibilities of Authors
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original, accurate, and prepared in accordance with the journal's policies.
- Authors must submit original work that has not been previously published and is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal.
- Authors must report their research findings accurately and must not fabricate, falsify, manipulate, or selectively report research data.
- All sources, ideas, data, quotations, and intellectual contributions obtained from other works must be properly acknowledged and cited.
- All individuals listed as authors must have made substantial contributions to the research and manuscript.
- All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission and publication.
- Authors must disclose any financial, professional, personal, or institutional relationships that may constitute a conflict of interest.
- Authors are expected to cooperate with the editors in responding to revisions, corrections, questions, or investigations concerning their manuscripts.
2. Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for ensuring that manuscripts are evaluated fairly, objectively, and consistently. Editorial decisions should be based on the academic quality, originality, relevance, and contribution of the manuscript.
- Editors must evaluate manuscripts objectively and independently.
- Editorial decisions must not be influenced by the author's nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, religion, political views, or other personal characteristics.
- Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and information obtained during the editorial process.
- Editors should appoint reviewers who possess appropriate expertise and who do not have conflicts of interest with the authors or the research.
- Editors must address suspected cases of plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, and other forms of publication misconduct.
- Editors should take appropriate action when significant errors or ethical concerns are identified before or after publication.
3. Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers contribute to the quality and integrity of the journal by providing independent and constructive assessments of submitted manuscripts.
- Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and constructively.
- Reviewers must keep all information concerning the manuscript confidential.
- Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been appropriately cited by the authors.
- Reviewers must inform the editor of any suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, or other ethical concerns.
- Reviewers should decline an assignment if they have a conflict of interest or do not possess sufficient expertise to evaluate the manuscript.
- Reviewers should complete their evaluations within the agreed period and inform the editor if additional time is required.
4. Plagiarism and Academic Misconduct
JECOMBI considers plagiarism and academic misconduct to be serious violations of publication ethics. Manuscripts may be screened for plagiarism during the editorial process and, when necessary, after publication.
Plagiarism includes presenting another person's words, ideas, data, images, or intellectual contributions as one's own without appropriate acknowledgment. Academic misconduct also includes fabrication, falsification, manipulation of research data, duplicate publication, redundant publication, and other practices that may compromise the integrity of scholarly communication.
5. Duplicate and Redundant Publication
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Manuscripts that have already been published elsewhere must not be submitted to JECOMBI unless the authors provide a clear scholarly justification and fully disclose the previous publication to the editor.
6. Authorship and Contributions
Authorship must accurately reflect substantial contributions to the research and manuscript. Individuals who have made significant contributions should be appropriately recognized as authors.
Individuals who have contributed to the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately. Any changes to the authorship or order of authors after submission must be approved by all authors and communicated to the editorial office.
7. Conflict of Interest
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, professional, personal, or institutional interests that could influence the research, evaluation, or editorial decision-making process. Appropriate measures will be taken to manage any disclosed conflict of interest.
8. Research Data and Integrity
Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the research data presented in their manuscripts. Data must not be fabricated, falsified, manipulated, or selectively reported in a manner that could mislead readers. Where appropriate, authors may be requested to provide supporting information or clarification regarding the research methods, data, and findings.
9. Corrections and Retractions
JECOMBI is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the published scholarly record. Corrections, retractions, or other appropriate editorial notices may be issued when significant errors, inaccuracies, or ethical concerns are identified before or after publication.
10. Complaints and Ethical Concerns
Complaints or concerns regarding publication ethics, authorship, peer review, conflicts of interest, plagiarism, or other forms of misconduct should be submitted to the editorial office. JECOMBI will review such concerns fairly, objectively, and confidentially and will take appropriate action based on the available evidence and applicable journal policies.
11. Responsibilities of the Publisher
The publisher supports the Editorial Board in maintaining the academic integrity and ethical standards of JECOMBI. The publisher will provide appropriate support in addressing ethical concerns and will cooperate with the Editorial Board in protecting the integrity of the journal's published content.
JECOMBI is committed to providing a transparent, fair, and responsible publication process. All authors, reviewers, editors, and other parties involved in the publication process are expected to uphold academic integrity and contribute to the responsible dissemination of scientific knowledge.
